O2 Apple’s network partner for the new iPhone 3G handset has announced that the launch has been hit by supply problems, a spokesperson said that each of the O2 stores would have only a few dozen iPhone 3G’s to sell at todays launch.
Apple have made several changes to the new model iPhone equipping it with 3G technology, GPS Maps and better e-mail management whilst still combining three amazing products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and full web browsing.
If that’s not enough, O2 have now made the iphone 3G more affordable than its predecessor and on certain tariffs it’s completely free.

Hey Keith
O2 make my blood boil…! I am not a massive advocate for Apple, but I am pleased with my current iPhone, enough so to spend 4 hours this morning queuing up for the latest and greatest in what Apple has to offer in the mobile arena.
The day started off well at 7am and #29 in the queue at the N.Finchley (N.London) O2 branch, with lots of friendly banter all round.
The shop opened at 8am and it was downhill from there. To make a long story short, O2 IT system crashed and could not allow any upgrades but they could allow NEW (£££) purchases (Grrr…!) So #55, 63 etc jumped in front of me into the warm shop while I waited, and waited outside! Then all the 16 gigs got sold out to people who had probably queue jumped.
Then after 4 hours they took down the details from folks still left in the queue and said they would call with a reservered phone.
What really annoyed me is that it was only then that they mentioned that no upgrades had been processed all morning, meaning I was about an hour late for work for no real reason!
O2 sucks and I kinda feel Apple does too!
Rant over…
